Insetta Boatworks’ Insetta 45 Selected as Official Chase Boats of the 35th America’s Cup
Local manufacturer’s 45-foot catamaran will follow the fastest boats in the competition's 166-year history
March 17, 2017 – St. Marys, Ga. – The Insetta 45 has been named the Official Chase Boat of the 35th America’s Cup, the iconic sailing competition that combines technology and luxury with the world’s best sailors and innovative sailing machines. The 45-foot center console catamaran, which runs at highway speeds, was designed and built by family owned and St. Marys-based Insetta Boatworks.
“We are proud to have been selected for this prestigious honor,” said Victor Insetta, owner and CEO of Insetta Boatworks. “We’ve put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into making a different breed of catamaran that can outperform any other boat in her class. This pairing makes so much sense on both sides of the spectrum as America’s Cup boats have always been on the cutting edge of technology and hold a deep-seated passion for performance, just like Insetta Boatworks.”
During the competition, which takes place in Bermuda from May 26 through June 27, the Insetta 45 will follow and run with the America’s Cup Class race boats competing in the 35th America’s Cup events. Passengers will enjoy a smooth and stable ride, unparalleled views of the events, expansive deck space and a luxurious setting.
“Our Insetta 45 is a perfect fit as the Official Chase Boat for this high-speed competition,” said Insetta. “She has an offshore racing catamaran heritage, coupled with today’s most advanced construction, technology and design. This is one bad cat.”
As the Official Chase Boats of the 35th America’s Cup, the Insetta 45 joins a prestigious club of the world’s top technologically advanced and sought-after boats in existence. The team will provide four catamarans for the event that will not only serve to chase the race events for passengers who want an up-close view, but also provide assistance in the event of a crash or overboard sailor.
